w00t! again :)
Sun is bringing out the big guns!
if you ever tried to figure out what your ultimate shopping list would look like, look no further!
Sun is giving away its enterprise software, absolutely for nothing, nada, zip :)
you can find a sum-up of all the goodies HERE
and as Ben Rockwood brilliantly puts it on his blog: "If your not amazed by this, you either don't have a pulse, are retarded, or need a clue". :)

Today, me and a collegue visited Sun to talk about running projects within our company.
we also got to talk about UltraSPARC T1 (the official new name of the Niagara server line, Sun Fire T1000 (1U Niagara server) and the Fire T2000 (2U Niagara server).
the chip on these multicore 32-thread (8 core/4 thread) babies (running at 1.2Ghz instead of the previously mentioned 1.08Ghz) only pulls 70 watts, thus making it one of the coolest server parts (hence the term 'cool threads') will be delivered in a Galaxy chassis and will definitely rock when they are released to the public.
for a quick "peek" visit The Register:
Sun already seems to be gearing up for Niagara II (a 64-thread version of UltraSPARC T1 (16 core/4 thread design))

here's the new logo

w00t! anyone ? :)

2005/10/28: razrX (that's me) receives his godly 17" Powerbook (see previous post of 2005/10/31)
2005/11/28: razrX buys his silver Moto razr v3 cell :)
i gotta tell ya: this is one kool phone. i wanted this phone for a while now but had to save up to get it so it took me a while.
i like being able to peer thru bluetooth with my powerbook and sending pictures, syncing my calendars thru iSync, that sort of shit.
i love the design of this phone, so sleek and it's got a pretty big display :)

did i say w00t already? ;)

Lemme just say this: the HCC was not as kool as i hoped it would be.
i didn't buy the wifi stuff i was lookin' for 'cause the various shops didn't bring the linksys products i wanted.
i did buy the magnificent book by bruce eckel 'thinking in java 3rd edition' though.
i wanna learn the java 2 programming language and according to friends, this is the best book to get you going.
credmp (the handle of 1 of the guys who also visited the HCC with us) visited some photo shoot where some dude was explaining lots of tech tips about a very expensive nikon camera.
the rest of us of course know why credmp actually visited that photo shoot ; some chick was being photographed naked and he doesn't have a gf ;)
after having spent about 3 hours at the HCC we went to a american diner to sink our teeth in some fab burgers.
that pretty much summed up that day.
