Well, Alonso is F1 champion of 2005.
luckily, McLaren scored a one-two (Montoya taking the win) to finally overtake the Renault team in the constructors championship.
Renault was bragging about having new parts on the car which would enable them to fight with McLaren this weekend but McLaren was, yet again, too strong for the Renault team and easily took the one-two victory.
with only two races to go (China and Japan) i'm hoping for a McLaren win in the constructors championship.
i'll have to ask my brother to probably record both races 'cause i'll be on holiday then.
Blogosphere news from you friendly OSS dude.

At work today we had a meet with our Sun Microsystems contact.
the meet was about the new Sun AMD64 Opteron servers.
i am very excited (woot!). the combination of AMD64 power with Sun engineering with SAS drives.
what's not to love??
we asked Sun to deliver a X2100 asap so we can get our hands dirty and play around with this beauty.

Wow, i just watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
i've been waiting for this one for a long time and finally seeing your favorite characters in a anime feature is fantastic.
where the previous Final Fantasy movie failed to impress story wise, eventhough the graphics, even now, were breathtaking to watch, this movie gave me much more satisfaction.
the events in the story of Advent Children take place 2 years after the final battle of the game.
all of my favorite characters are in the movie, including Sephiroth.
i can only advise each Final Fantasy fan out there to get your hands on this one as soon as possible.

Damn, that fernando alonso and the renault f1 team are having all the luck this year.
it looked like mclaren would score a one,two thus overtaking renault in the constructors formula 1 championship up until 2 laps before the end.
unfortunately, the brazilian pizza dude driving a williams-bmw colided with montoya driving the number 2 mclaren taking them both out of the race eventhough pizzaman was not fighting for position but actually being a lap behind.
because of this, mclaren only gains 2 points on renault leaving them with a 6 point gap.
i still see the facial expression of ron dennis looking very angry and annoyed, eventhough kimi won the race.
with only 3 races to go, the f1 drivers championship very much looks about done.

i just got to try out a Acer n10 pda.
i gotta tell ya, i've never owned a pda before and having one now will hopefully get me a little bit more organized.
being a unix dude, at work i also don't work with any m$ boxes.
that also means that i don't work with the m$ outlook/exchange calendar software.
eventhough i think mickysoft sux bigtime, you do find their software running almost everywhere you go with the familiar exchange as the MTA of many a company's choice.
using evolution with the exchange connector helps a bit when running oss, now i just have to see whether the pda is usable to sync the appointments that are stored in the m$ calendar.

Well, just wanted to let you all know that the movie we went to last night was The Island.
Both my wife and i liked the movie, although we both found it difficult to follow the many high-speed action scenes the movie offers.
Normally, i don't have problems watching high-speed scenes in movies, but with the island that was pretty different.
Anywho, the movie was pretty cool.
I still would like to see the war of the worlds though and gotta hurry if i want to see it in the cinema before it is discontinued.
Today, my wife and i paid a visit to family and we were at their house for most of the afternoon, until we received a phone call of one of our best friends that his cat is not well and losing weight rapidly.
So we left the family visit early and went off to visit our friend.
We spent most of the evening there before driving home at about 22:00 hours.
Then it was my intention to go watch the qualifying session for the formula 1 which should have been taped this afternoon, but something had gone wrong with the taping so there was nothing to watch.
Luckily, there is a re-run of the qualifying session broadcast tomorrow morning, so i'm gonna watch it then.

After i just published my latest blog entry, i read one of the previous posts about our cat Spike.
I just wanted to let you know all that the story sofar has a happy ending and all appears to be well again.
Luckily, Spike didn't had to go back to the vet for another treatment, just for the final checkup.
Talking about the vet, he was kind enough not to charge us for the last consult since we paid twice during that particular weekend already, so that was very cool of him.
So spike is well, happily being at home again among our 3 other cats Fonzie, Bandit and Buffy.

The world watches the terrible situation in New Orleans in the US of the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
I don't understand why no news has been reported about Europe offering the helping hand to the US.
Just because America is a wealthy country doesn't mean that they have to solve this devastating situation all by themselves does it?
Well, apparantly and unfortunately that appears to be the case.
On a brighter note, my wife and i have planned a little dinner and a visit to the movies tonight so hopefully that will help a little bit getting our thoughts of off the Katrina deal.
